Not only did some slam her video for resembling Beyoncé's "Formation," others felt her symbolism-heavy video was too calculated and disingenuous.

Kahn has already had to speak out against the Beyoncé copy-cat rumors, and he does have a point here. Taylor once received death threats for simply calling out her ex-boyfriend in a song, and she's currently receiving plenty of hate online after releasing her video.

But she's clearly not lacking in support. Her fans echoed Kahn's sentiments by defending Taylor against the haters.

Taylor's rebranding may be a bit jarring compared to the old, "dead" Taylor's shiny reputation, but the effectiveness of the way she's deciding to shed her skin is still up for debate.

Either way, she is putting on one hell of a show.
